Coin Market Manager (CMM) is a cryptocurrency portfolio management platform serving an institutional-grade audience of crypto traders globally. The product helps users track investments, monitor markets, and make informed decisions across multiple wallets and exchanges in one place.
Zensite has partnered with CMM since 2021 as their lead product design team. The engagement has spanned a full redesign of the original platform, the launch of new analytics tooling, and design partnerships with tier-one exchanges including Binance, KuCoin, BingX, and Hyperliquid.
When CMM brought us in, the platform was technically capable but commercially capped. Three issues kept compounding.
First, the interface looked and felt like a 2018 fintech dashboard. There was no clear brand identity, the charting components were generic, and the layout was dominated by spreadsheet-style data tables. Traders who had options were choosing competitors that looked more credible.
Second, the learning curve was steep. New users needed orientation just to understand what the product did, let alone what it could do for them. By the time the value clicked, many had already left.
Third, engagement was a one-and-done pattern. Signups were healthy but retention was not. Users would log in once, attempt to make sense of the dashboard, and not return. The product worked. The experience didn’t.

We started with what was already known. The CMM team had years of qualitative signal from support tickets, churn surveys, and community Discord conversations. We worked through this material to identify the friction patterns that mattered most, then ran targeted interviews with active power users, lapsed users, and traders who had evaluated CMM and chosen a competitor.
Three findings shaped the redesign.
Crypto traders do not want a dashboard. They want a P&L. The single most important number to them is "how am I doing right now," and it should be the first thing they see.
The spreadsheet was alienating new users while doing nothing useful for advanced ones. Traders who needed depth went straight to the exchange interface anyway. Traders who needed clarity were drowning in cells.
Wallet connection was the highest-friction step in the funnel, but also the point of no return. Users who completed wallet connection became dramatically more likely to stick around. The entire onboarding had to be reoriented around getting users to that moment quickly.
The most visible change. We replaced the table-first layout with a card-based portfolio view, where each holding becomes a glance-able card surfacing the metrics traders actually look at first: position size, unrealized P&L, exposure, and trend. The advanced data-table view stayed available for power users, demoted to a secondary tab. The default view now answers the question traders actually open the app to ask.

We introduced a real-time P&L feed as the central nervous system of the new dashboard. Live position updates, daily and weekly performance, alerts on threshold crossings, and contextual analytics including win-rate, average hold time, and risk exposure. The goal: turn CMM from a record-keeping tool into a decision-support tool that traders open multiple times a day.
The signup-to-wallet-connect flow was rebuilt to compress every step that did not directly move the user toward connecting a first wallet. Clear progress signals, exchange logos prominent on the connect screen, and a guided first-time setup that gets traders to a populated dashboard within minutes of signup. Wallet connection is no longer the moment users hit a wall. It is the moment they see the value.
A refreshed visual identity gave the platform the institutional credibility its underlying capabilities deserved. The new design system covers typography, color, data visualization patterns, table primitives, and the chart library, all built for the scale of a platform that needed to look right next to a Binance terminal.

The redesigned platform became the design foundation for partnerships with tier-one exchanges. Hyperliquid, BingX, KuCoin, and Binance integrations were each shaped by the same design language, allowing CMM to plug into each ecosystem natively while keeping the experience coherent for users.
Each partnership brought its own constraints around data depth, latency, and brand co-existence. The shared design system absorbed these differences so that a CMM user moving from a Binance-connected portfolio to a Hyperliquid-connected one never has to relearn the interface.

The redesigned CMM is a different product to use. Cleaner first impression, faster time-to-value, and a P&L-first surface that gives traders a reason to come back.
The relationship has compounded into a sustained engagement since 2021: from a single redesign brief to becoming CMM’s de facto product design partner across web, advanced analytics tooling, and partner-exchange integrations. The platform now serves over 51,000 active users globally, with continuous design iteration across new product surfaces as the crypto market itself evolves.
